What is the Firehouse Chapel?

The foundation on which the Firehouse Chapel is built is simple: Jesus Christ, His crucifixion, and His resurrection. The Bible says that when He is lifted up, He will draw ALL men unto Him. Everything we do is built on Jesus Christ.

Upon that foundation are placed a number of pillars:

  • We must reach the lost of this world
  • We must speak God's word without apology (2 Timothy 4:2)
  • We must pray and know that there is power in prayer (Ephesians 6:18)
  • We must worship God with our time, talent, and treasure (John 4:24)
  • We must share Christ with love and confidence (Ephesians 6:19-20)

There are a number of foundational principles that are essential to this work:

#1 First-your relationship with God is the most important relationship you will ever have in your life. Spending time in prayer with Him every day is the only way you can maintain that relationship and know what His will is for your life. So, we ask this question: How is your time alone with God? Did you get your 10 or 15 minutes? How about your 30 or 45 minutes? Did you read His word? Did you sit quietly and wait for Him? Did you listen?

#2 Second-we must strive towards righteousness and the holiness of truth. We must set aside falsehoods and be honest with people. We are called to be made new in the attitude of our minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:23-24)

#3 Third-God wants us to release our past hindrances and take hold of the new things He is going to do in us. He wants us to actively look for the fresh work that He is going to begin in us. Isaiah 43:18-19 says: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."

#4 Fourth-everything we do will be rooted in prayer and waiting before God. We will look for His timing and His direction. Isaiah 40:31 (NASB) says: "Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary." Too often ...

Why Worship at The Firehouse?

We believe that God is what He has been since the beginning of time. He is the God of the Universe and we worship Him alone. When we gather together for worship we experience His love, grace, and mercy. We fix our eyes fully on Jesus, and His cross. And speaking of the cross, if you join us for a Sunday service, you will hear about your sin, and the fact that it separates you from God. You will find out how Jesus’ sacrifice can restore your relationship with God, simply by asking. You will learn that repentance and atonement go hand-in-hand with forgiveness. We aren’t afraid to acknowledge the fact that Hell exists. We also aren’t afraid to say that we are all sinners. In fact, the whole room is full of sinners.

The single most important work we do is to follow after God as willing servants-fully surrendered to His will for each of us. We know that his calling is sure; his vision is sound; and his plan was set before us after much time in prayer and waiting before Him. As God began to lay his vision out before us, our prayer was simply that he would clearly show us the purpose of what this work was to be. As he revealed the plan further, we knew that we were called to be A RESCUE STATION ONE FOOT FROM THE GATE OF HELL. Not around the corner, not 100 yards away, not a mile or so down the road. No, we are called to stand so close to the fire that we risk being scorched by the flames. We are here so that we can reach people with the wonderful saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Here are a few reasons you might consider joining us for worship:
  • The whole Gospel is preached. The message will be from the Bible. Period.
  • The Firehouse is a church body that prays, and believes in the power of prayer.
  • Worship is powerful, yet simple. We pray daily that God will work mightily in the lives of those in attendance each Sunday. You will sense His Spirit.
  • You will experience God’s love instead of people’s judgment.
  • God works at The Firehouse because we have committed to getting out of His way so that He can do what he needs to do.

If you are broken and in need of a Savior, why don’t you let us introduce you to him? If you are weary, let Him uphold you. If you are tired, let Him give you rest. If you think you are ready to experience what it’s like to be a part of a rescue station one foot from the gate of hell, consider joining us some Sunday to begin the journey God has for you. But before you rush right over, please pray for His guidance and leading. We know that he will show you where he wants you.

What better place can you think of to put a 'firehouse' than one foot from a fire?
